From a professional ATP tour Tennis player
Hi,
My name is Sid and I am a professional tennis player, I play on the ATP tour.
Tennis is a way of living that has taught me many things in life, from the insatiable feeling of overcoming challenges to the respect of our opponents and the values of fairplay, this sport was the epicentre of my life for as long as I can remember. Having that much dedication to the practice of a sport sometimes can take a toll on your body and your mind. Going from country to country to play relentless battles takes a lot of resilience and passion. That is why I found that a healthy and balanced nutrition, a good team of medical assistance, good training habits were all crucial to my long-term success.
By being on the tennis court and the gym for as long as 30 hours a week, physical exhaustion can leave a professional athlete with many injuries. Physiotherapy was a practice that helped me outlast stress fractures, tendinopathies, sprains... More specifically Anthony Truong at Physio Summum has been helping me get through a foot injury that has been bothering me and keeping me off court for more than 2 months now.
Physical therapy is not only about treating a certain condition but ensures that you will not get that injury again by making you stronger through diligent rehabilitation and exercise practice. What is interesting is that Anthony is a very experienced functional physiotherapist. He trains me in ways that will improve my tennis through exercises that are Tennis-related. This one is to improve cutting.
In short, physiotherapy is a universal practice that can not only help professional athletes but also the average person that experiences physical weakness or any other issue. I am very happy with the help of the experts at Physio Summum and I would recommend them to anyone that needs medical attention.
Until next time!
